The Art of Service: Part 1: Professional Service: Giving to your profession

Giving to your profession

Your profession is the valuable knowledge and skill that you have acquired to be able to BE OF SERVICE to a group of clients.

It doesn’t matter what profession you study; doctor, plumber, financial consultant, accountant etc you learn both a set of KNOWLEDGE and a set of SKILLS.

Two Examples

Lawyers

If you are a lawyer you may have specialized your knowledge into litigation. Therefore you have studied all aspects of litigation and know them well. You have also studied to be a lawyer generally and how to develop the verbal skills of communicating the law, asking questions, listening, developing rapport, etc

Teachers

If you are a teacher you may have specialized in English for High School students. Therefore you have studied all aspects of knowledge associated with teaching the knowledge of english. You have also studied to be a teacher generally and how to develop the verbal skills of communicating to students, asking questions, listening, developing rapport etc.

There is one more thing you NEED to add to not only be highly successful; to be also satisfied and highly fulfilled.

One of the missing pieces for many professionals these days is the piece which creates the JUICE of your professional service; that is an ATTITUDE of TRUE SERVICE towards your clients.

The ART OF SERVICE is the constant connection you have with:

♥ your love of teaching AND your love of your students to learn & develop

♥ your love of plumbing AND your love of your clients’  homes and businesses

♥ your love of medicine AND your love of your patients’ wellness & wellbeing

♥ your love of banking AND your love of your clients’ financial support & growth

♥ your love of accounting AND your love of your clients’ financial order

♥ your love of dentistry AND your love of your clients’ dental health & attractiveness

♥ your love of the law AND your love of your clients’ life to restore justice & integrity to it.

♥ your love of building AND your love of your clients’ beautiful homes & businesses

♥ your love of investing AND your love of creating, restoring & enabling others to shine

I hope you can see the link here. If you don’t have the love there it means you’re there for the money only!! You are missing the vital connection that makes the juice flow.

If you gravitate to providing a professional service JUST for the money or primarily for the money you will end up feeling dried out, resentful, cold, working hard and long, complaining, treating clients with disdain, your profits will diminish, your energy will diminish and you will not attract the team you would like to have because of your own thinking and where you’ve gravitated to.

The ART OF SERVICE in your profession is

about :

VALUING your skills and knowledge without being arrogant

Investing in those professional skills and knowledge

keeping up to date with the latest trends

keeping up to date with the latest technology

keeping up to date with changes in the law & regulations

keeping up to date with new knowledge in your field

MAINTAINING INTEGRITY in your skills and knowledge

following the law and regulations

using good quality materials

finishing things properly

cleaning up after yourself

keeping paperwork organized

CARING about the end result

connecting with your love for your profession again

connecting with your deeper purpose which is about serving others not yourself.

paying attention to details

learning to communicate more effectively

unblocking your hardened heart so you can give more

understanding the power of your whole professional ability to restore faith and trust in humanity again…to truly be a leader in your profession, community and business world

to be an agent for change that has the juice of love, purpose, care, excellence & integrity

May you be blessed in your professional service to your clients today!

Love to you
